The restored timber trestle of Dee Slip Bridge crossing a fern gully on the O'Shannassy Aqueduct Trail

News & Stories

[SAMPLE] A small note about the leat.

Working bees through April will replace the lower head-race timbers — closed for two consecutive Tuesdays, otherwise as usual.

You may have noticed the lower head-race has been weeping for some weeks; it’s now confirmed as the section that was patched in 2014. The heritage working group has lined up two consecutive Tuesdays in April for the rebuild — 8 and 15 April. The wheel won’t turn on those days. The shop and café are open as usual.

If you’d like to come and watch (or help — we can always use another set of hands on the timber dressing), please email heritage@yarravalleywaterwheel.org.
