La La Falls is the shortest waterfall walk in the upper Yarra. The trailhead is a few minutes’ drive from the Warburton township along Old Warburton Road; from there it’s an easy 30-minute return walk along Four Mile Creek through tall mountain-ash forest and tree-ferns to the falls themselves.
The falls aren’t huge — a thin curtain of water dropping over a moss-dark step in the creek — but the walk in is the real prize. It’s a popular spot for friends and families looking for something gentle, and a favourite among hikers who use it as a warm-up before tackling the longer trails further up the mountain.
The path can be slippery after rain; sturdy shoes are a good idea. Dogs on lead. No facilities at the falls.
