Domaine Chandon

Domaine Chandon is one of the Yarra Valley’s flagship sparkling-wine producers, set on the Green Point estate at Coldstream on Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Country, about an hour northeast of Melbourne. Established in 1986 by the French Champagne house Moet & Chandon, it was created to bring traditional-method sparkling-wine expertise to a New World location. Today the estate, now marketed simply as Chandon and part of the LVMH group, is known for holding one of the country’s largest collections of methode traditionnelle sparkling wines.

A visit centres on the cellar door, where guided tastings and hosted wine experiences walk you through the estate’s sparkling and still wines. The on-site restaurant pairs modern, seasonal dining with sweeping vineyard and valley views, making it an easy choice for a long lunch among the vines. There is also a gift shop for taking a bottle or two home, alongside the option to buy online.

Beyond the tasting room, the estate offers alfresco and private dining, lawns and gardens to enjoy on a fine day, a full bar, free WiFi, ample parking, and disability access. The recently opened Chandon Homestead provides a dedicated space for private events. Whether you are stopping in for a glass with a view or settling in for a meal, it is a relaxed and well-appointed addition to a Yarra Valley wine day.

Opening hours can vary slightly between seasons, so it is worth confirming current times and any holiday closures directly with the venue before you set out, particularly if you are planning to dine.
