Habitat Nursery and Orchards sits on seven acres at East Warburton. Depending on the season visitors can pick blueberries, raspberries, youngberries, chestnuts or hazelnuts; the picking season runs roughly from December through May, with the exact mix changing month to month.
Beyond the orchard rows, the property is a quiet pleasure to wander: a 60-year-old camellia and rhododendron garden, mature native plantings, and a small nursery selling cold-climate fruiting plants if you’d like to take a piece of it home. There’s a small café-style stall for cuppas and snacks during picking season.
Check the social pages before you drive out — picking days vary with the weather.
